Since January I have been working five days a week on a six acre organic farm on Oahu’s North Shore called Mohala Farm and starting this week on my days off I am visiting farms, markets, and restaurants around the island for my new internship as a 2012 Food Warrior for Real Time Farms in Hawaii. The Food Warrior Program is an opportunity for interns to go out and document the food system while helping build the Real Time Farms growing online food guide. So I am now spending seven days a week either working on a farm or visiting a different island farm!
SO EXCITING! I hope you think so, too.
I also hope you will follow me on my adventures around Hawaii’s food system. You can see posts from what I am up to on this blog or you can see what all the 2012 Food Warriors are documenting on the Real Time Farms’ blog. This is the third season of Food Warriors and there are 18 interns across the country in Atlanta, Austin, San Francisco, Massachusetts, Florida, and of course Hawaii. If you are in Hawaii, make sure to drop by the Mohala Farm stand at the Haleiwa Farmers’ Market on Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm and try some of our fresh organic produce.
Take care, eat well, and aloha!

Wow ! I love your blog, the concept, the informations you are providing us with !!! Too bad you are on the other side of the pacific ocean !!! ;-p Thanks for following and supporting my blog too !
It’s exciting indeed. You’re at the front lines of a meaningful mission, and I look forward to reading about your observations, experiences, and insights.
Ryan,
So glad to connect. Your blog is a gem – and your adventure is inspiring! My recent decision to go vegetarian has given me a whole new appreciation and curiosity about the food I put into my body, the people who cultivate and produce it and the passion that takes it from seed to dinner table.
Looking forward to learning more from you. (And enjoying the lovely, lovely photos of paradise.)
Amy
